The launch of IPBES is just around the corner. This Platform is expected to be fully operational in 2012. It will be a global scientific authority providing information and knowledge relevant to policy and strategic decisions on the conservation of biodiversity and the use of ecosystem services.

Biodiversity conservation will benefit from such a strengthened science-policy interface. Our Union can make a significant contribution to IPBES.
