All we need is water

Extreme water scarcity is not the only problem Jordan is currently facing. Combined with poor water management though, it might be the worst. When both water quantity and quality are inadequate, health and environmental hazards can reach alarming levels.
Building on IUCN's global experience in water ecosystems management, the Jordan-based regional office for West Asia and Middle East had recently launched the Regional Water Resources & Drylands (REWARD) Programme. From restoration of the severely polluted Zarqa river to the revival of the Azraq Basin, IUCN-led dialogues aim to create awareness about the urgent need to improve water management in Jordan.
