Late August last year, Simon Mahood who works with SOS grantee and IUCN Member, WCS Cambodia, joined Rous Vann, one of the project team's most experienced biological monitoring staff on a quest. Together they went in search of the Endangered Masked Finfoot (Heliopais personatus). One of the few places where the bird hangs on is Kulen Promtep Wildlife Sanctuary, deep in Cambodia’s Northern Plains. On the journey they encountered numerous species of birds, several of which the SOS-funded project is helping to protect, but what of the Masked Finfoot? …
