Valentine's Day, a day set aside for love. Save the Planet with support from IUCN Nepal and UNESCO celebrated this Valentine's Day in a different and unique way. With the theme, ‘Love the Nature’, the concept no longer just focused on people but conveying love to your loved ones through nature. The notion and the idea was simple; To attract and educate public especially youth, about nature and promoting the message that loving and protecting nature is the best way to show that you care about your nearest and dearest ones.
The programme kicked off in Basantapur Dabali amidst more than 500 participants comprising of students, celebrities, media professionals and government representatives.
During the ceremony all the guests from IUCN, ICIMOD, CWIN and others urged all to work together in reinforcing the environmental commitment and to preserve nature for the future generation.
IUCN Nepal supported this unique way of celebrating the Valentine's Day to rekindle public commitment and to involve participation from all sectors of life in view of promoting environmental values and broadening public support for environment conservation.
