Conservation Knowledge About Zoos and Aquaria in Europe

18 October 2007 | News story

The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) celebrated its 24th Annual Conference in Warsaw last month, with an attendance of over 550 participants.

This IUCN member has developed the EAZA in situ Conservation Database in order to further increase the number of conservation projects run and supported by EAZA members. As of 20 September the database, which includes 426 in situ conservation projects from EAZA members in 22 European countries, can be used online. During the next five months all EAZA member institutions are encouraged to update/add their institution’s data on conservation projects.
