Climate Change and Protected Areas Summit

Climate change presents a serious threat to biodiversity and the livelihoods of people.

IUCN WCPA, the IUCN Programme on Protected Areas and the IUCN Centre for Cooperation in the Mediterranean, is pleased to announce that Junta de Andalucía is sponsoring a Protected Areas and Climate Change Summit in Granada, Spain, from the 16 to the 19 November, 2009.

Technical and policy input to this Summit is also provided by The Nature Conservancy, WWF-International, The World Bank, UNDP, UNEP-WCMC, Conservation International, the Wildlife Conservation Society, BirdLife International, Wetlands International, Fauna and Flora International, the Wild Foundation, the Community, Conservation and Biodiversity Alliance, LifeWeb and the CBD Secretariat.
