CEESP Related Event List at the Congress

At the Congress, there will be 71 events that involve CEESP. Among them, 16 events are organised and led by CEESP (see below); please mark them out on your calendar. Please click the link to the full event list. Kindly note that, the information we list here may still be subject to potential change or may contain errors. Please double check them on the IUCN Congress portal when closer to the Congress.    

Some Key Information

1. Please proceed to the Congress registration desk to collect your name badge (and per diems card if applicable) before participating in any sessions. Registration hours are as follows from 30 August to 1 September at the Hawai’i Convention Center.

Opening ceremony relay   10:00am - 12:00pm

2. The Congress Opening ceremony will take place at 10:00am-12:00pm, at the Neil Blaisedell Center. Shuttle services will available from the Hawaiʻi Convention Center to the Neil Blaisedell Centre 6:30am-8:30am. No entry to the NBC will be permitted after 9:30am.

After the Opening Ceremony, shuttle services will also be provided. Please note that, people who will be attending the Commission Meeting (13:00-17:00) are asked to proceed immediately to the shuttle buses

3. CEESP Commission Meeting is now rescheduled to 13:00-17:00 on 1 September, shortly after the Opening Ceremony. 

4. CEESP Office at the Congress will be located at the Exhibit Hall of the Convention Center. The area is named as Public Offices.

5. CEESP Excursion on 8 September — Mahuahua Ai o Hoi: Helping to Restore the Food Systems of Heeia is still open for registration. It will be a great opportunity to join other CEESP members and work with local communities! CEESP is partnering with local Hawaiian communities to convene a work day for volunteers to help restore wetlands essential for water quality for the downstream fishponds Paepae o He'eia and to improve food sovereignty by planting traditional food crops. The purpose of the day is to roll up your sleeves and help the team at Kako'o 'Oiwi clear invasive and prepare gardens for taro planting.
