Lista Roja de Ecosistemas revela grado de amenaza que enfrentan ecosistemas

En el marco del IV Congreso Mesoamericano de Áreas Protegidas, la Unión Internacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza (UICN), en conjunto con el Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza (CATIE) realizaron una presentación en el Pabellón SOS de la UICN acerca de los avances y resultados preliminares de la Lista Roja de Ecosistemas aplicada en Costa Rica. A la fecha, la Lista Roja ha permitido iniciar con la identificación de los ecosistemas en Costa Rica que están siendo amenazados, debido principalmente a una reducción de su tamaño a través del tiempo y a los efectos de acciones como el cambio de uso de la tierra y la tala ilegal, entre otras.   …
