Herbal Fair: Healing the World through Promotion and Conservation of Medicinal Plants

A fair promoting herbal medicine was held at the premises of Ujanipara Buddhist Temple in Bandarban District of Chittagong Hill Tracts. The fair was jointly organized by IUCN Bangladesh (IUCNB) and Bolipara Nari Kalyan Somity (BNKS), a member of IUCN. Around 300 people of different ethnic communities were present in this fair, a landmark event aimed towards conservation of essential medicinal plants. …

On 28th of September, IUCN Regional office, Bangkok under the aegis of its Water and Wetlands Programme organized the first meeting on groundwater management in the Lower Mekong Region. Wetlands Workshop Identifies The Need For Improved Environmental Guidance

On September 22-23, 2009, 30 scientists and wetlands managers met at Can Tho University in the heart of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. They discussed the state of the wetlands in the delta and proposed policies that would help sustain the vital ecological services provided by wetlands and mitigate the effects of climate change on the region. The participants came from the delta’s leading universities and research centers, government agencies, NGOs, and management boards of wetland protected areas.
