Legal Aspects of Connectivity for Conservation
29 July 2011 | News story
The first organizational meeting for the development of a concept paper on connectivity for conservation was held at the ELC from July 25 to July 28.
The goals of the meeting were to agree on the detailed proposed outline of the concept paper, develop a methodology, propose a division of tasks between the five ‘core’ authors, and adopt a work plan and time schedule. All these objectives have been met, and drafting the various component parts of the document will start in September. Participants at the meeting included Ben Boer, Co-chair of the CEL/WCPA Specialists Group on Protected Areas, Trevor Sandwith, Director of the IUCN Global PA Programme (PAP), CEL Members Barbara Lausche and David Farrier, and staff members of the Environmental Law Centre.
