It was created in response to resolution 3.060 from the IUCN 3rd World Conservation Congress in Bangkok that invited the Director General to submit a detailed proposal for IUCN-private sector relations to the 4th World Conservation Congress. This has been done by integrating private sector issues in the draft IUCN Program for 2009-12 and by individual component programs identifying specific private sector activities in their respective draft programs. This final document will be referred to in the report on progress on implementation of the resolutions which will be communicated to Members before the Barcelona Congress.
