The objective of this session was to get input from the IUCN audience into IWA activities as well as to showcase IWA working areas that is relevant for the IUCN audience.

In particular, a range of technology options and planning frameworks exist to enhance the sustainability of sanitation service provision. There are no universal answers; rather interventions that are tailored to the local needs of users; suites of technical options that relate to specific situations and a host of non-technical issues for consideration. IWA operates a range of projects focused on sanitation and is supporting the work of SuSanA – Sustainable Sanitation Alliance.
