Strategy for the Conservation of West African Elephants
The Strategy for the Conservation of West African Elephants was first published in 2003, and revised and updated in 2005. The AfESG assisted the West African elephant range States in developing and updating the Strategy. The Strategy is available in English and French.
The Strategy forms the basis for the Convention on Migratory Species West African Elephant Memorandum of Understanding.
An action plan for managing transfrontier elephant conservation corridors in West Africa was published in 2003, also facilitated by the AfESG. The action plan is also available in English and French.
An action plan for the management of elephants in the Ziama Wenegisi Transfrontier corridor (Guinea - Liberia) is also available in English and French.
