Gestion des Aires Marines Protégées - Manuel pour la région de l'Océan Indien Occidental

Les AMPs (Aires Marines Protégées) ont été établies à travers
le monde pour diverses raisons, comme la conservation, le
tourisme et l’éducation. Au moment de la production de ce
Manuel, on compte plus de 70 sites individuels (nommés au
niveau national et international) dans l’Océan Indien
Occidental (OIO), parmi lesquels une certaine forme de gestion
existe. La plupart de ces sites sont gérés sous mandat
offi ciel du gouvernement, tandis que d’autres correspondent
à des arrangements traditionnels ou locaux ; par ailleurs, ces
sites correspondent à un éventail de protection allant des
zones de ‘non pêche’ complétement protégées à des zones à
usages mutiples. Dans la région, chaque pays a maintenant
une ou plusieurs AMPs, et le nombre est en augmentation. …
