This will be the first ever Global Gathering of Women Pastoralists (GGWP) to be held from 21st - 26th November 2010 in Mera, India.
Women pastoralists from across Asia, as well as from Africa and Latin America, will meet in Mera, India to share experiences and learn from each other. The gathering is organized by MARAG (Maldhari Rural Action Group), a grassroots organization working for the rights of pastoral people in India and supported by a working committee which includes ILC, LPP, WAMIP and WISP-IUCN.

2 pastoralists from Cameroon are going to take part in the meeting, who are quite excited about it. I hope organisers will take care to provide interpreters and opportunities to collaborate with one another!

It is great opportunity to hear such fantastic event from you. I hope the voice of “ voiceless” pastoralist women would poured in the ears round the glob.

This is a great initiative for women. An opportunity for women to share expriennces which they can take home and implement. Hearing from other women in the same shoe has a great impact.
