Working together
The Rainforest Challenge Partnership
The aim of the Rainforest Challenge Partnership led by IUCN, ICRAF, ASB, CIFOR, and WWF is to find concrete ways to address the central challenge of equitably balancing tradeoffs between development and conservation, by bridging the gaps that exist between local knowledge, science, policy and practice.
The programme's goal is to enhance the productivity, sustainability and diversity of landscapes in the humid tropics in ways that meet the needs of the rural poor while maintaining forest biodiversity and other environmental services. This programme operates through partnerships that bring together local community groups and leading organisations in nature conservation and in agriculture and natural resources research and development.
