FRIS - Forest Restoration Information Service
The Forest Restoration Information Service (FRIS) has developed a portal to share information about Forest Landscape Restoration and make it available to a broader audience. It is hosted by UNEP-WCMC with support from DFID and the UK Forestry Commission in collaboration with the Scottish NGO Trees for Life and IUCN. It aims to: provide an open-access internet information service to support forest restoration projects world-wide; facilitate exchange of knowledge and experience among forest restoration projects, and providing a basis for analysing factors determining success; and facilitate the prioritisation, design and execution of forest restoration efforts by FRIS users.

The following services will be accessible from this website: definitions of key terms and concepts in forest restoration; an introduction to key approaches and tools; case studies; directory of projects and initiatives; and maps and datasets. UNEP-WCMC invites any national or international organisation, government authority or private sector company to collaborate in the development of the FRIS.
