Efforts to save depleted woodland vegetation

Coastal Grassy Woodland vegetation has been significantly depleted in Victoria, Australia, with over 80% of its pre-European distribution lost since 1800. Much of the Yanakie Isthmus area at the northern end of Wilsons Promontory National Park is Coastal Grassy Woodland, making this an important site for the conservation of this depleted vegetation, though here too it is threatened through wide spread and long term invasion of the Coast Tea-tree (Leptospermum laevigatum). …
