In Barcelona, a variety of Learning Opportunities (LO) were offered to Congress participants. These learning sessions were interactive, skills-building workshops where presentations were kept to a minimum and active participation was maximised. One of these LO focused on "Designing market-viable ecotourism products" where instructors from Discovery Initiatives, Rainforest Alliance and the UK Federation of Tour Operators shared their knowledge on understanding your market and product, marketing and sales as well as Health and Safety. The session was attended by 36 participants, originating from a variety of locations and backgrounds, half of which were representing IUCN members.
