IUCN and ICMM have been working together on mining, biodiversity and related issues since 2000. Key milestones in, and contributions from, this collaboration include:

    IUCN and ICMM renew their collaboration with the signing of a 5-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
  • 2011
    IUCN, ICMM, Shell International and JP Morgan Bank launch a project to critically evaluate current World Heritage processes and practices and develop recommendations for more effective implementation of the World Heritage Convention in relation to the extractive industries.

    IUCN- ICMM planning meeting to assess the value of continuing the Dialogue process and to identify new opportunities, challenges and other areas of common interest.
