IUCN and Holcim are working towards influencing national policies and legal instruments that enable the building material sector to deliver better biodiversity conservation outcomes, particularly in relation to implementation of a Biodiversity Management System (BMS). Activities include:
- Review of literature in biodiversity-related policy and legal frameworks in a sample of countries where Holcim operates
- Development of a guidance document including legal principles to support the implementation of BMS
This work is carried out by IUCN’s Environmental Law Centre in Bonn.
Expected outcome: Policies and legal instruments in selected countries have been influenced to enable the building material sector to deliver better biodiversity conservation outcomes
