After a 1st workshop in Nairobi in May 2009, draft guidelines were drawn up and circualted internationally for comment. The revised guidelines wre presented at 2nd workshop, also in Nairiobi, in October 2009 and were tested through a series of scenarios. The final guidelines will be released in January 2010.

The guidelines were also used in the development of an invasive criterion in standards being developed by the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels.
