Supporting UN Conventions
IUCN experts are involved in a wide range of UN environmental policy events and are continually requested by governments to help update national policies, strategies and action plans regarding UN conventions. IUCN ROWA also takes pride in providing this technical assitance to state members in West Asia.
IUCN ROWA takes on a Chapter for the Jordan's Third National Communication Report to UNFCCC
IUCN ROWA takes up writing a very important chapter for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Third National Communication Report for Jordan.
A team of experts headed by IUCN ROWA in coordination with the United Nations Developement Programme in Jordan, have written up one of the most important chapters in the report : " The Vulnerability & Adaptation Assessment".
This comes as part of updating the last communication report and will assess future vulnerabilities and risks for the years 2030 and 2050, and suggest possible adaptation measures accordingly.

Updating the Jordan National Strategic & Action Plan for Combating Desertification
Funded by the Global Environmental Facility and implemented by the Ministry of Environment in Jordan, IUCN ROWA has taken up a mission to align the National Desertification Combat Action Program (NAP) with the UNCCD ten year strategy starting from (2015 - 2020) and has also produced a comprehensive communication strategy. IUCN will also be preparing both the 4th and 5th Country reports to the UNCCD.

Updating the Jordan National Strategic & Action Plan for Biodiversity Conservation
Funded by the Global Environmental Facility and implemented by the Ministry of Environment in Jordan, IUCN ROWA has taken up a mission to align the National Biodiversity strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) with the CBD ten year strategy starting from (2011- 2020). IUCN will also be preparing both the 5th Country reports to the CBD.
