The project, which is implemented by IUCN Regional Office for West Asia (ROWA) and funded by The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), aiming at Raising the awareness and enhancing the knowledge of key Jordanian officials, professionals and local communities on relevant initiatives on the topic of sustainable land management by adopting the ecosystem approach and methodologies.
The project is a combination between site visits, practical field engagement and discussions, and lectures on summarized theoretical backgrounds.
It will ensure long-term sustainability of natural resources and the welfare of local communities through using effective participatory management (collection, validation, storage, analysis and dissemination). This will support decision making from the project to the national levels and provide a means for monitoring changes in the resource base either as a result of natural processes (environmental monitoring) or due to human interventions (project monitoring and evaluation).
