FAO are taking advantage of the 21st Near East Forestry and Range Commission (NEFRC) to hold the 3rd Near East Forestry Week (NEFW) in Amman, Jordan in 26th January 2014.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has been providing, for decades, assistance to the Near East countries to develop their forestry and rangelands institutions, policy and legal frameworks in support of the national forest and rangelands programme.
The event will be organized by International Union for Conservation of Nature, Regional Office for West Asia (IUCN-ROWA), in cooperation with The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) in Jordan.
The 3rd NEFW will be held to foster and encourage the participation of the private sector, Non-Governmental Organizations, Community Based Organizations and Associations, and the media from the entire Near East and North Africa region.
It will also encourage dialogue of these stakeholders with public sector organizations and provide forum for the exchange of experience, knowledge, and suggestions on pertinent issues related to forests and rangelands.
