Propuesta de una red representativa de áreas marinas protegidas en el mar de Alborán
Un trabajo coordinado por el Centro de Cooperación del Mediterráneo de la UICN (UICN-Med) ha permitido identificar una red de 30 áreas prioritarias para preservar la riqueza de la región del mar de Alborán, caracterizada por una alta biodiversidad, con especies de origen Atlántico, Mediterráneo y Noroeste africano, así como por la presencia de grandes especies migratorias y comunidades únicas asociadas a los ecosistemas particulares de la región. La superficie total que esta red cubriría sería entorno a un 8%. Algunos ecosistemas y comunidades menos conocidos podrían en el futuro también formar parte de esta Red. …
