Working together

The World Conservation Union is a membership organization. The Union has a membership of more than 1,000 organizations, as well as 10,000 individual scientists and experts structured in six Commissions. The priorities and work of the Union are set by members every four years at the World Conservation Congress and subsequently coordinated by a professional secretariat with 1,000 staff in 62 countries.

Members

The IUCN Regional Office for Europe serves about a third of the total worldwide IUCN membership: 359 members (February 2008). The head office in Brussels, along with Programme Offices in Belgrade, Moscow and Tbilisi, covers 55 countries in two Statutory Regions:

In 17 countries in these regions, members have also established National Committees to facilitate cooperation among members and between members and IUCN offices.

Please contact Annika Åkerfelt, Membership Relations Officer at the IUCN Regional Office for Europe, for any enquiries relating to IUCN membership in the European regions.
