IUCN currently has 34 members from India, the highest in the Asia region. The IUCN National Committee in India (Indian National Committee, INC) was one of the first of the kind to be established in the region. This Committee is chaired by the Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Government of India.
