Historically, IUCN has worked closely with several US-based foundations to support numerous international conservation projects. Over the last decade, we have begun to expand our relationships with additional foundations located in many other parts of the world.
Together, we have undertaken ground-breaking initiatives that have led to the protection of ecosystems and the sustainable use of natural resources. Through these efforts, we have been able to link field project findings to policy level recommendations and influence.
In addition, through the generous support of all these foundations, IUCN has achieved sustainable and pragmatic solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges including climate change adaptation, cross-border management of river basins, creation of buffer zones for the protection of endangered species, and much more.
The following (non exhaustive) list acknowledges those foundations which have supported our work in 2009 and 2010.
