Telling Stories about the John Muir Award

02 May 2010 | News story

“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” John Muir's quote continues to inspire action for the environment. Awards given in his name -- a total of 100,000 thus far -- are communicated in case studies that carry the message to wider audiences. Rob Bushby, John Muir Award Manager, shared the link with CEC's Frits Hesselink.

In March 2010, the John Muir Award celebrated its 100,000th award with an event at the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, Scotland. Ron Bushby, John Muir Award manager, said, “I believe that through the Award we are finding and nurturing the next generation of environmental community activists."
