16 August 2012 | News story
Are you attending Congress? Here is some essential CEC information.
All you need to know about the IUCN World Conservation Congress can be found on the IUCN website here >>
For urgent attention by 19 August: To be able to access the Congress venue on 5 and 6 September, you need to provide your full passport details. This is mandatory for all participants requiring access on these days, even if you don’t plan to attend the Opening Ceremony. New fields have been added to the registration system in the “Participant details” tab under the “Passport” section for security reasons as required by the Korean Government. You will need your Registration Badge and your passport if you plan to attend the CEC members meeting on the 6th. You must complete the form here by 19 August. A notice on this requirement has been previously circulated. More information >>
CEC Members' Meeting with Marketplace: The meeting is 6 September in the International Convention Center (ICC) Knowledge Café, Room 102, from 9.30 am to 2:00 pm. The meeting includes a marketplace activity running 90 minutes. You are invited to design your own activity! See the agenda and read more about it here >>
Schedule of CEC-related Events at Congress: CEC will be very active at the Congress. There are workshops, a conservation campus, knowledge cafés, posters and pavillion events, which are being led by CEC members and other constituents that relate to topics of communication, education and capacity development. These events in particular are highlighted on the daily schedule here >>
CEC Booth: Use the CEC booth/stand as a meeting place and tell a story on video! Volunteers are needed to work the stand for an hour or two in their free time. The exhibition area, with 150 exhibitors, is in a tent on the plaza outside on the 1st floor of the Congress venue (ICCJ). It is open from 7 to15 September. More practical information >>
- Tell your nature story on video at the CEC booth: Building on the concepts in 'Love. Not Loss.', CEC is encouraging people to share their own love stories about nature. Would you like to come prepared with a story? If so, think about a positive experience in nature, e.g. how you overcame a challenge, discovered something new or fell in love with a particular place. Tell your story on video camera at the CEC booth. It will be recorded against a green screen which will enable us to have pictures related to your story superimposed behind you at a later date.
